South Carolina just passed a responsible, balanced budget that puts taxpayers first, strengthens our economy, and invests in the future—all without reckless spending or growing government. As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, I’m proud to have helped craft this budget alongside my Republican colleagues to ensure that South Carolina remains a leader in economic growth, job creation, and fiscal discipline.

A Budget That Works for South Carolina

While Washington continues down the path of overspending and runaway debt, South Carolina is doing things the right way. We live within our means, return money to hardworking families, and invest in priorities that make a real impact.

✅ Tax Relief – $1 billion in tax cuts, including $800 million in property tax relief and $200 million in income tax cuts.
✅ Education & Workforce – Raises teacher pay, keeps tuition low, and funds scholarships to prepare the next generation.
✅ Public Safety – Increases funding for law enforcement, supports school safety, and cracks down on crime.
✅ Infrastructure – Invests in roads, bridges, and water infrastructure to support growth.
✅ Fiscal Responsibility – Keeps spending in check while ensuring South Carolina remains competitive and financially strong.

South Carolina has a Growing Economy, Not Government

What’s growing is South Carolina itself—and that’s because of conservative leadership and responsible fiscal policy. This allows us to spend more money on the needs of the state while still providing tax relief. Our pro-business, pro-growth climate lowers taxes and allows us to spend more where we need investment.

📈 Fastest-growing state in the U.S.
🏭 $52.8 billion in new capital investment
👷 121,000 new jobs created in the last decade
💰 83% wage growth over the past 20 years

This budget is balanced and conservative and keeps our promise to return dollars to the people who earned them.

Delivering Tax Relief for South Carolina Families

Republicans in South Carolina have a clear record: We cut taxes.

💵 $200 million in income tax relief—SC families now pay 14% less in income taxes than they did just three years ago!
🏠 $800 million in property tax relief—keeping homeownership within reach.
📉 $50 billion in tax cuts over the past 30 years—proving that conservative budgeting works.

Here is Where We Invested Even More Money

This budget doesn’t just cut taxes—it makes smart, strategic investments that keep our state strong and prioritizes our needs over what matters. I feel these are the priority issues for House District 98, and I think you will agree.
